The name of Edith Northern is not widely known in Caldwell County or anywhere else to my knowledge. In fact, she almost lived her life without notice. The only place I've found her name recorded is in the minutes of Yadkin Baptist Church.
She joined the church by letter at the June meeting in 1814. Since she transferred by letter, she was a member in good standing of another Baptist Church. Just where that church is, I cannot say. I don't know if she was a widow or a single woman. Whatever her marital status, she apparently had no family to care for her and no means to care for herself in her later days as the following will show.
