That isn't an ahnentafel, but an ahnenlist.
The famous Tamura Jones wrote a great explanation:

    - Martin.

  2. Thanks for the input. I must admit that I've never heard of the "famous Tamura Jones." I think however, I'll stick with Ahnentafel. Ahnenlist is part German, part English. The proper spelling would be Ahnenliste.

  3. Wow! Quite a history there. Ernest Irven is my great-great uncle by marriage. He married Mary Elizabeth Lenertz. I don't believe they had any children.

He is listed in Find-a-Grave as I.E. Coffey in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK.

He was an engineer and inventor. You can find his patents online.

Thank you for looking him up.

  4. I had Ernest Irven as J. Irven - or something similar - in my file. I re-checked his WW1 draft reg. card and realized that the 'J' was really an 'I'. Once I got that corrected the family fell in line. Also, I discovered another child, William Arthur, during this exercise. Do you have a marriage date/place for Ernest and Mary?

  5. Jack, I don't have a marriage date or place. In the 1900-1930 censuses, Mary is in four different states! This whole side of the Lenertz family has been tricky. They moved a lot.

My best guess is they married about 1914-1915 in Oklahoma, possibly Lawton. Mary's father lived in Lawton around that time. Her mother died in Lawton in 1913.
