Annie Lou Coffey was a daughter of William M. & Martha Jane Sharpe Coffey. According to death records in Caldwell Co., Annie was born on Jan. 22, 1887. However, her death certificate reports that she was born Aug. 3, 1885. She died on Mar. 6, 1972 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at Kings Creek.
She was married to Harry Thomas Austin c1915. Harry was born Aug. 3, 1885 in Caldwell Co., and died there on Dec. 4, 1971. He too is buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Harry was the son of Joseph Milton and Margaret Matilda Green Austin. Joseph descended from Thomas Jefferson and Margaret Jane Bean Austin, a large family from Caldwell Co.Their children, all born in NC, were: Millard Gwyn, born Nov., 1914; Reva Gay, born Nov., 1916; Claude Everett, born Mar., 1921; Elsie M., born c1922; and Guy Coffey, born c1925.
