He had been making his home in Lancaster for the past eight years. He was a retired employee of the Lehigh Portland Cement Company of Fordwick, where he was employed for 25 years. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta Springs.
Mr. Coffey is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hessie L. Maser Jr. of Lancaster; four sons, Thomas L. and Elmer F. of Lancaster, Zandy A. of Staunton, and William L. Coffey of Richmond.
Also, six sisters, Mrs. Martha Arnold, Mrs. Mary Etta Everitt, Mrs. Theresa Coffey and Mrs. Ella Fitzgerald of Lyndhurst, Mrs. Minnie A. Campbell of Stuarts Draft, and Mrs. Murlvinia Gregory of Waynesboro; one brother, Zandy Coffey of Lyndhurst and ten grandchildren.

He was born Oct. 14, 1929, at Love, to parents Mack and Allie M. Hewitt.
He retired from Wayne-Tex in March 1992 with 32 years of service.
He was a devoted father and a member of Mt. Top Christian Church where he served as an elder for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Irvan; two sisters, Charlotte Quick and Elizabeth Truslow; four brothers, Mac Hewitt Jr., Manuel Hewitt, Carl Hewitt and Guy Hewitt.
On Jan. 28, 1950, he married Virgie Fix Hewitt, who survives him. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Jeffrey S. LYNDHURST - Ralph Eugene Hewitt went to be with the Lord at 6 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001) at his residence at 1197 Love Road.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929, at Love, to parents Mack and Allie M. Hewitt.
He retired from Wayne-Tex in March 1992 with 32 years of service.
He was a devoted father and a member of Mt. Top Christian Church where he served as an elder for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Irvan; two sisters, Charlotte Quick and Elizabeth Truslow; four brothers, Mac Hewitt Jr., Manuel Hewitt, Carl Hewitt and Guy Hewitt.
On Jan. 28, 1950, he married Virgie Fix Hewitt, who survives him. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Jeffrey S.
